Islamabad: It has been revealed that petrol and diesel will become more expensive in the country from August 1. A Jang report has found that the government is likely to drop petroleum bombs on the public again in August and the price of petrol and diesel may increase by Rs 10 to Rs 17 per liter from August 1, 2022.
According to industry sources, the increase in the prices of petroleum products has been estimated without including the petroleum levy, but if the government increases the petroleum levy by 5 rupees per liter, then the price of petrol will increase. 15 per liter and diesel price may increase by Rs 23 per litre. On the other hand, the Economic Coordination Committee has approved the proposal to review the dealers margin for petrol and diesel and the dealer margin on petroleum products has been increased to Rs 7.
In this regard, a meeting of the Economic Coordination Committee was held under the chairmanship of Finance Minister Miftah Ismail. In the meeting, Fatima Fertilizer plants were directed to shift to local gas, the concerned ministries were also directed to determine the price of gas for the company’s fertilizer.
