Peshawar : At least 57 people have been confirmed dead and more than 190 injured so far in Friday’s suicide bombing at Peshawar’s Jamia Masjid Kocha Risaldar while police and other security forces have cordoned off the mosque and is not allowing anyone to enter the area.
The atmosphere in the city is mournful and the funeral prayers and burial of the deceased are continuing while the police and other law enforcement agencies have cordoned off the mosque and no one is allowed to enter.
A letter has been sent to the Anti-Terrorism Department to register a case of Peshawar blast, which was issued on the complaint of SHO.
The bomber struck shortly after noon in front of a mosque, killing at least 12 people and wounding dozens more, the letter said.
It is to be noted that the suicide attack in Kocha Risaldar Mosque took place at around 1:55 in which the attacker first opened fire and then went inside the mosque and blew himself up.
According to reports, Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Mehmood Khan and other officials attended the funeral prayers of martyred police personnel in police lines.
It should be noted that 57 people were martyred and 197 injured as a result of a suicide blast during Friday prayers in Jamia Masjid of Qissa Khawani Bazaar area of Peshawar.
