President Dr. Arif Alawi said that peace in Afghanistan will bring prosperity to the region, trade will be opened, connectivity will be established with Central Asian states, inflation is rising all over the world, Pakistan is not the only country in the world which is facing this challenge. ۔
Rejecting the impression of Pakistan’s role in the transformation of the Afghan government, the President said that we were only helping the Taliban on humanitarian grounds.
In an interview with the Gulf Times on the sidelines of a visit to the United Arab Emirates, he said that the devastation in Afghanistan would mean a further refugee burden on Pakistan, not wanting instability in the neighboring country. Even if they do not bring stability in Afghanistan, then how will it be possible for Pakistan to do so.
Expressing deep sorrow and grief over the demise of nuclear scientist Dr Abdul Qadeer Khan, President Alvi said that the nation would never forget his services. The President said that Pakistan wants to follow the model of UAE in attracting investment. Talking to the delegation of Overseas Investors Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OICCI) in Karachi, the President said that Efficient management of the country’s resources and adoption of IT-based approaches in business can yield positive results.
