Pakistan’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations Munira Karam has appealed to the international community to help the Afghan people on the basis of human rights. Today, Afghanistan is at a turning point in its history. Millions of Afghans have died in the last four decades. ۔
According to details, a meeting of the UN Security Council was held on the situation in Afghanistan. Addressing the gathering, Pakistan’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations Munira Karam said that Pakistan was most affected by the situation in Afghanistan and there were still 3 million Afghan refugees in Pakistan.
The Permanent Representative of Pakistan said that restoration of frozen accounts of Afghanistan is necessary, the international community should remain engaged in Afghanistan, large-scale bloodshed in Afghanistan has been stopped.
He said that Afghan soil should not be used against any other country, in the past Afghan soil was used against Pakistan, Afghan government was formed to ensure peace, respect for human rights, international community should help Afghan people on the basis of human rights and Taliban He appealed to the government to cooperate with the UN for assistance in Afghanistan.
Referring to the assistance from Pakistan, Munira Karam said that Pakistan has already started the relief work for the Afghan people, 3 Pakistani planes have reached Kabul with relief goods, in the next phase, ground relief goods will be sent.
The Permanent Representative of Pakistan said that Pakistan attaches utmost importance to the broad-based government in Afghanistan. After the caretaker government, it supports all sections of the government.
Referring to the evacuation from Afghanistan, he said that more than 10,000 people from 30 countries had been evacuated from Afghanistan, adding that the current government structure was important for law enforcement and crime prevention after the evacuation. Organizations include ISIS, al-Qaeda, the TTP and Jundullah, and the United Nations must side with the current Afghan government.
