At the World Climate Change Conference, more than 100 countries signed the Methane Group Agreement in which Pakistan became the first Asian country to sign the Methane Treaty. The US President thanked Prime Minister Imran Khan for the Methane Agreement.
According to details, Pakistan’s Ministry of Climate Change has opened the door for Pak-US talks. Special Environment Assistant Malik Amin Aslam met US President Joe Biden in Glasgow.
Sources said that Malik Amin Aslam met President Joe Biden at the Glasgow Conference. The meeting focused on the effects of climate change and methane and pledged to further enhance Pak-US partnership in the field of climate change. Prime Minister Imran Khan was also mentioned.

According to the report, a quarter of air pollution in Pakistan is caused by methane. The United States, United Kingdom, Argentina, Canada, Mexico, Indonesia and Japan are part of the group. Methane pollution is caused by endogas, livestock and specialized agriculture, traditional drilling operations, gas wells, gas pipelines are also major causes.
