Pakistan’s information minister has stressed the need for international forces to be deployed in the Occupied Palestinian Territories to protect civilians from Israeli aggression.
Pakistani media reported that Minister of Infomation Fawad Hussain Chaudhry had stressed the need for an international peacekeeping force to be deployed in the Occupied Palestinian Territories to protect civilians from Israeli aggression and to ensure peace in the region.
“The Occupied Palestinian Territories need to deploy an international peacekeeping force in line with the UN model in conflict zones in Africa, Asia and Europe,” Chaudhry said today (Thursday).
“The martyrdom of more than 250 civilians in the Palestinian territories and the wounding of hundreds and the displacement of thousands in recent Israeli attacks is a dangerous event that requires the immediate and serious mobilization of the UN Security Council to ensure lasting peace in the region,” he added.
The Pakistani official also called on the Security Council to live up to its core responsibilities.
