ISLAMABAD: Foreign Office Spokesperson Asim Iftikhar has said that reports of Pakistan’s support for India’s permanent representation in the Security Council are baseless.
Giving a weekly briefing to reporters, the Foreign Office spokesperson said that Muslims around the world were offended by the blasphemous remarks made by BJP members and many countries have demanded a public apology from India. Measures against minorities in India have been going on for a long time. There are also double standards in the report on religious freedom in the world from the United States. Demonstrating moral courage, India brought these members to justice.
The spokesman said that there was no discussion between the US Secretary of State and the US Secretary of State regarding India’s permanent representation in the Security Council, however, Pakistan was in favor of reform in the Security Council.
On the issue of buying oil from Russia, the Foreign Office spokesman said that they are in contact with the embassy in Moscow and Russian officials here to buy cheap oil. We will do whatever is in the interest of Pakistan.
Asim Iftikhar said that the Indian occupying forces had martyred 5 more Kashmiris in occupied Kashmir, including a young student. India should stop atrocities in Kashmir and hold an independent referendum under the auspices of the United Nations.
The spokesperson said that the National Committee for FATF is working under the chairmanship of Hina Rabbani Khar. The seizure of nuclear material in different parts of India is unusual and raises questions about the nuclear program. Asim Iftikhar added that a Pakistani citizen in Saudi Arabia was sentenced to three years in prison and fined 10,000 riyals for using social media in a holy place.
