Addressing a seminar on Pak-China relations in Islamabad, he said that Pakistan and China stood by each other in every difficult time and in the height of the epidemic, President Dr Arif Ali visited China and expressed solidarity.
Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi had said that in the global fight against the Corona epidemic, Pakistan supported China’s initiatives locally and internationally, which is a practical example of the relationship between the two countries.
The Foreign Minister said that the measures and cooperation between the two countries are ideal to curb the spread of the epidemic. China has donated 3,050,000 vaccines as a gift. In this regard, we are grateful to China for its exceptional assistance in the development of the vaccine. Shah Mehmood Qureshi said that we want to make Pakistan a progressive and economically strong country through development, mutual relations and partnership in the region. He said that energy in the first phase of Pak-China Economic Corridor (C-Pac) project. And in infrastructure, while in the second phase, the focus is on industrial development, agricultural cooperation, socio-economic development and job opportunities.
Shah Mehmood Qureshi said that it is noteworthy that relations between the two countries are also increasing at the public level, 30,000 Pakistani students are studying in China, 11 Urdu departments in different universities in China, 7 Pakistan Studies. Centers have been set up. Meanwhile, addressing the Climate Smart Agriculture Conference in Islamabad, Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi said that the areas of Tharparkar and Umerkot were constantly neglected, criticizing the Sindh government for not providing clean drinking water. He said that provincial ministers in Tharparkar and various districts of Sindh have failed to provide basic rights.
He said that Sindh government ministers do not visit rural areas where law abiding citizens live but they do not have any personnel, they have to travel long distances to fetch water for domestic use. Kot and Tharparkar have 80% Hindu population where they need full protection. Shah Mehmood Qureshi stressed that we have to protect their places of worship and give them complete freedom of worship.
