Pakistan Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa has arrived in Saudi Arabia on an official visit where he will meet with Saudi civil and military leadership. Pakistan Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa will also meet military and civilian leadership during his official visit. ۔
According to local media reports, the Pakistan Army Public Relations (ISPR) said that Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa would also meet the military and civilian leadership during his official visit.
Earlier on April 29, Foreign Office spokesman Zahid Hafeez Chaudhry had said during a briefing that Prime Minister Imran Khan would pay an official visit to Saudi Arabia in early May. He said details of the visit would be released soon.
It may be recalled that in August last year, Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa visited Saudi Arabia where he met his counterpart in Riyadh and discussed ways to enhance military cooperation between the two countries.
General Qamar Javed Bajwa arrived at the Pakistani embassy in Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia, to ease diplomatic tensions and restore relations between the two countries.
The Saudi Defense Ministry said in a statement on its website that the army chief was received by Saudi Chief of General Staff Maj. Gen. Fayyad bin Hamad al-Rawili.
Later, the Saudi counterpart and Commander of the Saudi Joint Forces Lieutenant General (Staff) Fahd bin Turki Al Saud was met by the Chief of Army Staff and his accompanying delegation and was presented with a Guard of Honor at the Saudi Ministry of Defense.
During the meeting, General Qamar Javed Bajwa and Major General Fayyaz bin Hammad discussed new dimensions of military cooperation between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia, ways to strengthen and consolidate them and other issues of mutual interest.
