KARACHI: Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif has said that Pakistan’s armed forces are capable of dealing with any threat and our desire for peace should not be considered a weakness.
Addressing a passing out parade at the Naval Academy in Karachi, Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif said that Pakistan’s armed forces are capable of dealing with any threat, adding that the nation is proud of the armed forces for strengthening national defense The people were given a toothless answer.
“Equipping the navy with modern technology to protect maritime interests is a top priority. Joint ventures with friendly countries will enhance its capabilities. Our desire for peace should not be seen as a weakness,” he said.
Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif said that the government would provide all necessary resources to the Pakistan Navy, but development was possible only in a peaceful environment. He said that Quaid-e-Azam wanted Pakistan as a role model for the world.
PM meets MQM leaders
Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif called on the MQM delegation at Faisal Base, in which a delegation of Muttahida Qaumi Moment complained about non-implementation of the agreement reached with PML-N while discussions were also held regarding the appointment of Governor in Sindh.
The MQM delegation included Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, Aamir Khan, Kanwar Naveed Jamil and Wasim Akhtar.
