Despite the opposition’s opposition, the government passed the Journalist Protection Bill 2021 and the NAB Amendment Bill 2021 and the Higher Education Commission Amendment Bill in the Senate.
According to details, a meeting of the Senate was held under the chairmanship of Chairman Senate Sadiq Sanjrani. When the Journalist Protection Bill 2021 was presented in the House, the opposition and the government came face to face.
Opposition groups called for the bill to be sent to the relevant standing committee, but with 35 votes in favor and 29 against, the bill was passed. Let the chairman wave to the Senate.
After which the House also passed the NAB Amendment Bill 2021 by a majority vote, the bill was introduced by Law Minister Forough Naseem. The senators chanted “Respect the vote” as the Senate Security Chairman approached the Senate dice.
When Minister of State Ali Muhammad Khan presented the Higher Education Commission Amendment Bill in the meeting, the government members appealed for immediate voting, send the bill to the committee or vote now. I voted, to which Sherry Rehman said that Dilawar Khan should support us, 34 votes were cast in favor of the motion to introduce the bill and 28 against.
The majority members of the opposition were defeated and the Senate passed the HEC Amendment Bill. The Justice System for Adolescents Amendment Bill 2021 and the National Commission for Protection of Rights Protection Amendment Bill 2021 were also introduced in the House, which were referred to the relevant committee by the Chairman.
Protesting against the handing over of the bills to the committee, the government minister said that it seems that we did not vote for you. You are the chairman of the opposition. Opposition democracy is also selective.’
