In one of his tweets on the social networking website Twitter, the Information Minister said that the notification regarding fuel charges adjustment has been issued on the orders of the Prime Minister.
He said that under the relief announced by the Prime Minister, the fuel charge adjustment will not be charged to the consumers consuming 300 and less units of electricity in their electricity bills.
The Minister of Information and Broadcasting said that on the instructions of the Prime Minister, the process of payment of new bills has been started and the last date of bill payment has also been extended.
He said that the said amount will be deducted from the bills of the citizens who have paid their bills for the next month.
Along with his tweet, the Information Minister also shared the notification issued by the Ministry of Energy in this regard.
It should be noted that while addressing the members of Pakistan Muslim League (N) National and Provincial Assembly in Islamabad on September 1, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif had announced exemption from fuel adjustment charges to consumers using up to 300 units of electricity.
Shahbaz Sharif had said that because of Fuel Adjustment Charge (FAC) common man’s parrots flew away and I fought on it and said that if we have to do it then we go and sit somewhere else but sweated and tried to.
He said that in the first phase, they exempted 200 units, which was 21 billion rupees, it was only 48 or 52 percent of the customers, but I said that if they exempt up to 300 units, it will be done.
The prime minister said that consumers consuming 300 units of electricity will get exemption from fuel adjustment charge, which means 75 percent of consumers will get complete exemption.
He said that the bills of the drivers also came to 18 and 20 thousand from where would they pay, what would have happened if they came to the streets and it was their right to come to the streets.
The Prime Minister said that we have taken the final decision today and I am calling a conference on 8th or 10th, in which 10,000 MW solar and wind powered projects are being launched.
He said that solar energy will benefit from three aspects, one will not be imported, the other will not have to be subsidized and then solar energy will be produced.
It may be recalled that last month, the government had announced relief to 1.71 million consumers, saying that fuel adjustment charges would not be charged to consumers consuming less than 200 units of electricity, while consumers with 200 to 300 units would be charged. A committee has been formed to provide relief.
He said that fuel adjustment charges will not be taken from 1 lakh 71 lakh consumers out of 3 crore consumers, most of the time we are not taking this tax and fuel adjustment charges should be taken from the richest or 40% consumers who use more electricity. will
It should be noted that on September 1, the Prime Minister approved the implementation of the decision to generate electricity from solar energy and directed the early construction of solar power plants.
In the ongoing statement, it was said that in this regard, the Prime Minister has also directed to hold a conference next week before inviting bids from all stakeholders.
The statement said that in the first phase, government buildings, electric and diesel-powered tubewells and low-unit household consumers will be supplied with solar power.
The Prime Minister’s Office said that with this decision, Pakistan will be able to save billions of dollars.
