According to Fars News Agency’s Afghanistan website, the Pakistani Foreign Ministry announced that no US military bases are being built on Pakistani soil.
Pakistani Foreign Ministry spokesman Zahid Hafez Chaudhry called the rumors about the establishment of a US air base on the Pakistan-Afghanistan border baseless and a rumor.
“The United States and Pakistan have had a clear framework for the use of the country’s airspace and land since 2001,” he said.
According to the Pakistan Daily, the Pakistani Foreign Ministry spokesman further stressed that no new agreement has been proposed between the two countries so far.
Some Afghan media outlets reported that the United States was building a military base in the Karam region.
According to the media, the United States is building a military base in the Shaluzan and Terminal areas near the Pakistan-Afghanistan border in the Karam tribal areas of Pakistan.
