Pakistani Foreign Ministry spokesman Zahid Hafez Chaudhry called the rumors about the establishment of a US air base on the Pakistan-Afghanistan border baseless and a rumor.
“The United States and Pakistan have had a clear framework for the use of the country’s airspace and land since 2001,” he said.
According to the Pakistan Daily, the Pakistani Foreign Ministry spokesman further stressed that no new agreement has been proposed between the two countries so far.
Some Afghan media outlets reported that the United States was building a military base in the Karam region.
