Special Assistant to the Chief Minister Punjab Firdous Ashiq Awan has said that no one will be able to escape corruption . She said that they are doing everything possible to eradicate corruption, fight sugar mafia, flour mafia. Now the poultry mafia will also be fought.
She said that Imran Khan has decided to regulate the poultry business, it remains to be seen which family is involved in the poultry business. Replying to a question during the press conference, Firdous Ashiq Awan said that the Rawalpindi Ring Road project was illegal. The route has been changed and an inquiry has been ordered by the Prime Minister.
She said that the Prime Minister had brought a mandate from the people to curb corruption, the project of Ring Road Rawalpindi was started to reduce traffic load in Islamabad Rawalpindi, timeline and roadmap was worked out for the completion of the project.
Firdous Ashiq Awan said that whether they are in the bureaucracy or follow in the footsteps of their masters, this system was licked like termites and tried to get their hands dirty on the Ring Road project.
Former Commissioner Mahmood Ahmed and his associates committed fraud, misused the national treasury for their own interests, the former commissioner committed many illegal acts, nexus and many cover-ups were exposed.
Firdous Ashiq Awan said that the former commissioner also worked for private housing schemes, the former commissioner had the support of influential politicians and bureaucrats, the Punjab and federal governments were kept unaware of the facts, the FIA was not aware of private housing schemes. Has ordered a forensic audit.
She said that as a result of collusion of influential people, the fear of loss of Rs 10 billion to the national exchequer has been averted, inquiry report has been submitted to the Prime Minister, departmental action has been initiated against government officials, Prime Minister has issued instructions to FIA and others
Firdous Ashiq Awan said that the inquiry report has been sent to the concerned agencies, the process of submitting the proposal for this project has been canceled, it cannot be regularized legally, all nexus on the directive of the Prime Minister. Will be brought to an end.
She said that businessmen are being handed over to NAB, legal walls have been erected in the path of personal interest involved in this project, netting of housing societies has been laid around Ring Road project.
