After PM Imran Khan, a no-confidence motion was also filed against Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar. The no-confidence motion was also filed by opposition members. It was submitted to Secretary Punjab Assembly Muhammad Khan Bhatti with the signatures of the members.
According to an official statement issued by the Secretary Punjab Assembly, the motion of no-confidence and recusal of the meeting was submitted by opposition members of the Assembly Rana Mashhood Ahmed Khan, Malik Nadeem Kamran, Samiullah Khan, Mian Naseer, Ramzan Siddique Bhatti besides Syed Hassan Murtaza and other members of the Assembly. The statement said that the no-confidence motion was signed by 127 members of the Assembly and submitted to Secretary Punjab Assembly Muhammad Khan Bhatti in his office.
The statement also said that the opposition had submitted a requisition of the meeting with the signatures of 120 members of the assembly.
Punjab Secretary Muhammad Khan Bhatti confirmed that no-confidence motion and recusal of assembly session has been received from the opposition.
He said that according to the rules and regulations, the no-confidence motion and recusal of the assembly session would be presented to the Speaker Punjab Assembly who would take action on it in accordance with the law and constitution.
The text of the resolution said that the majority of this House had lost confidence in Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar and the affairs of the province were not being conducted in accordance with the constitution.
The resolution said that the Chief Minister has uprooted the democratic traditions in the Punjab province and therefore this House expresses distrust in him.
According to the rules and regulations, after the no-confidence motion was filed, the Punjab Chief Minister could no longer dissolve the Provincial Assembly and the Speaker was bound to convene a meeting within 14 days.
A recusal motion was also filed by the opposition to convene a meeting of the Assembly under Sections 154 (3) and 127 of the Constitution to introduce a no-confidence motion in the House.
Talking in this regard, PML-N leader Rana Mashhood said that the no-confidence motion has the signatures of 122 members of PML-N Assembly and 6 members of PPP Assembly.
He said that according to the constitution, a no-confidence motion must be signed by 74 members of the provincial assembly.

It may be recalled that the no-confidence motion against Chief Minister Usman Buzdar has been filed at a time when a no-confidence motion against the Prime Minister is likely to be tabled in the National Assembly today (Monday).
It may be recalled that a no-confidence motion was filed by the opposition members against Imran Khan on March 8 and recusal of the National Assembly session on which the Speaker had called a meeting on March 25, three days after the expiry of 14 days.
