Federal Education Minister Shafqat Mahmood said that no citizen has the right to take the law into his own hands, we will abide by every order of the court. The tradition of firing on the police is not right at all, the law is for everyone and its supremacy must be respected.
Talking to media outside the anti-terrorism court, Shafqat Mehmood said that seven and a half years ago, Nawaz Sharif filed a case to suppress political rivals. Today, the court summoned us and we are present. The lawyer has given arguments, nothing has been proved, Imran Khan has been acquitted in such a case.
In response to a question from a journalist about the incident that took place yesterday, the Federal Minister said that he did not know the details of what happened yesterday. There was an FIR against a man. Shafqat Mehmood said that he had seen the picture of the arrest in which the accused was holding a pistol. In the picture, the accused was also beating a police officer.
The Federal Minister said that the tradition of firing on the police is not right, no citizen has the right to take the law into his own hands, the rule of law must be upheld, we are all in the courts today. He said that every citizen has the right. The benefit is that he can apply, the application is the job of the investigating agencies.
