Lahore: 19 newly elected members of the Punjab Assembly who were declared successful in the by-elections of Punjab have taken oath. According to details, 15 newly elected members of Punjab Assembly of PTI took oath.
3 MLAs of PML-N, while 1 independent MLA also took oath. Speaker Punjab Assembly Chaudhry Parvez Elahi administered the oath to the members of the Punjab Assembly.
It should be noted that tomorrow will be the election of Chief Minister of Punjab. For which Parvez Elahi and Hamza Shehbaz are in the field. PTI had contested in the by-elections held in 20 constituencies of Punjab Assembly on July 17. PTI won 15 out of 20 seats. PML-N won four seats, while an independent candidate won the election.
On the other hand, the Election Commission issued the notification of the successful candidates in the by-elections of 19 constituencies of the Punjab Assembly, the notification of PP 7 Rawalpindi was stopped due to the pending hearing in the Election Commission.
