Pakistani media reported a cyber attack on the National Bank network. The National Bank of Pakistan said in a statement: “Our banking network server has been targeted by cyber attacks tonight and has affected banking services.”
Customer service is currently suspended, but basic service is expected to resume Monday morning.
With the New Year approaching and the National Bank of Pakistan being recognized as the largest bank for paying government employees and retirees, disruption to its banking network has caused many problems for millions across Pakistan.
In another part of the statement, it is stated: Due to the quick reaction of the relevant forces and the separation of the infected device from the main server, no financial damage was registered.
The National Bank of Pakistan has emphasized that existing resources and services and domestic and foreign experts will be used to prevent future cyber attacks, repair and restart and increase system security.
Accordind to sources there is a strong probability that this attack was initiated by United States because previously FBR was targetted by cyber attack and Arif Usmani revealed that it was done by United States so there is a strong sentiment that this attack may also be carried out by U.S .
