Islamabad :
Talking to media, National Security Adviser Moeed Yousuf said that Pakistan was not in a position to accept Afghan refugees if the situation deteriorated. “We paved the way for talks but did not become part of the talks,” he said. Dr. Moeed Yousaf said that the withdrawal of American troops is a great tragedy for the region and Afghans, the United States is repeating the mistake of the nineties in Afghanistan.
“We have never had control over the Taliban, nor do we have them now. The Taliban are not under Pakistan’s control, but we did use our influence to bring them to the negotiating table,” he added.
Dr. Moeed Yousuf said that Afghanistan is a problem of the world and the world powers have failed to solve it but Pakistan will find a solution because we have to live in this region.
