Islamabad :
Prime Minister Imran Khan has directed the Speaker of the National Assembly Asad Qaiser to convene a meeting of the National Assembly on March 21 and take action against the deviant members of PTI.
He gave these instructions after the news of the presence of about a dozen members of the National Assembly of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) in the Sindh House became public.
According to a report, the decision was taken at a meeting convened at the Prime Minister’s House, which was attended by Attorney General of Pakistan Khalid Javed Khan and the Speaker of the National Assembly.
Meanwhile, PTI leaders claimed that some members of the opposition in the National Assembly were in close touch with the government and were ready to support the government benches.
However, opposition members and some constitutional experts are of the view that the Speaker should not attend any meeting convened by the Prime Minister as the caretaker of the House after filing a no-confidence motion against the Prime Minister.
In a press conference, the PTI leaders termed Sindh House as a ‘new changa manga’ and claimed that money was being used to buy the loyalty of PTI legislators.
Talking to media, Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry said that the decision to convene the National Assembly would be taken by Speaker Asad Qaiser and not the Prime Minister.
When the Federal Minister inquired about possible action against the members whom he termed as looters of PTI, Fawad Chaudhry said, “Prime Minister Khan decided to de-seat them before voting on the no-confidence motion. What is it.’
He said that the members of the government benches present in the Sindh House had violated the constitution and under Article 63 of the constitution, the party chief could take action against them.
Fawad Chaudhry further said that PTI has initiated legal action on the matter under Article 63 (A) (1), under which if any party leader concludes that any member of his party If he has deviated, he can file a reference for his disqualification.
