ISLAMABAD: A meeting of the Federal Cabinet has passed a resolution regarding the decision of the Supreme Court. According to details, a meeting of the federal cabinet was held under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif.
The cabinet members congratulated Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif on the agreement reached after successful negotiations with the IMF, to which Shahbaz Sharif said that this would be the last agreement with the IMF.
It is learned that the decision of the Supreme Court in the Deputy Speaker Rolling case was also discussed in the cabinet meeting. Meanwhile, all members of the federal cabinet, including the coalition parties, unanimously appreciated the decision and termed it as historic. The decision will establish the supremacy of the Constitution.
It may be recalled that the Supreme Court has issued a detailed decision of the self-notice against the Deputy Speaker’s no-confidence motion. The 86-page detailed decision of the Supreme Court was written by Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Umar Ata Bandial. It started with Surah Al-Shu’ara, while the majority decision of the Supreme Court declared the decision of the Deputy Speaker to reject the no-confidence motion unconstitutional.
The decision said that the order of the Prime Minister to dissolve the Assemblies was declared null and void. In a meeting held at the residence of the Chief Justice of Pakistan, 12 judges recommended a suo motu notice. The Supreme Court upheld the Constitution. The Speaker took suo motu notice of the Speaker’s rolling to keep and protect it. The Supreme Court was mobilized due to the unconstitutional move of the Deputy Speaker. The President’s actions affected the basic constitutional rights of the opposition and the people.
The verdict stated that according to the PTI lawyer, the letter threatened to overthrow the government. The alleged external letter is a secret diplomatic document. In view of diplomatic relations, the court cannot issue any order regarding the letter. The full text was not even shown to the court, part of the letter was put before the Supreme Court as evidence, the courts decide on the basis of credible facts and not on speculation, it is the job of the executive to decide on the diplomatic correspondence.
