According to media reports, the citizens have caught the female presiding officer red-handed while stamping on the ballot papers. According to reports, Provincial Election Commissioner Sharifullah and other officials along with the district administration have reached the polling station after the news of stamping of ballot papers by a female officer came to light.
He said that an FIR would also be registered against the polling staff. The District Election Commissioner said that the ballot papers have been seized and most of them are safe. On the other hand, provincial minister Shaukat Yousafzai has also expressed his reaction to the incident.
In his speech, the provincial deputy said that the Election Commission should clarify its position on this incident. He called the incident a drama and said it was an attempt to discredit the government. Shaukat Yousafzai said that how can ballot papers be stamped in public? He said that it was the job of the Election Commission to hold free elections.
