Islamabad: Legal experts of the Election Commission declared Imran Khan eligible to participate in the by-election.
According to Election Commission sources, the legal wing of the Election Commission has declared Imran Khan eligible for elections after reviewing the Tosha Khana disqualification case and said that Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairman Imran Khan can participate in any by-election.
According to the sources, the Election Commission has informed the Regional Election Commissioner Karam Agency about the participation of Imran Khan. The Regional Election Commissioner had sought a legal opinion regarding Imran Khan’s participation in the by-election in the light of the Tosha Khana disqualification decision.
Sources say that the legal wing has replied that Imran Khan was disqualified only from the current seat in the light of Article 63 1P of the Constitution, Imran Khan can participate in any by-election in the light of this decision.
It should be noted that the Election Commission had sought the opinion of the constitutional and legal team last day.
