Talking on a program on a private TV channel, he said, “Our Nala Lei project is very fast. All the projects are accelerating. I am worried about Nala Lei ” and once its comolete i want to retire.
Sheikh Rashid was asked that the Nala Lei project will be completed before the election. Replying to this, Sheikh Rashid said that if this project is started before the election, it is a big deal, let the project be completed. It will take years.
Sheikh Rashid said, “This is my 15th ministry. I want this project to be completed. I will sit at home with dignity.” The anchor asked, “Does that mean you want to retire from politics?” Sheikh Rashid said that if the Nala Lei project is completed then I will retire from politics. Answering the question about participating in the 2023 elections, he said that I will contest the elections because the opposition keeps on messing up.
It may be recalled that last month, Federal Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid Ahmed called on Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Bazdar and discussed the general law and order situation in the province including mutual interest and political issues. The prospects for the fastest progress on the Lei Expressway project were also reviewed.
