Islamabad : Ahmad Wahidi, Home Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran, paid his first official visit to Pakistan on Monday at the local headquarters at the headquarters of the Army Chief of Staff, General Qamar Javed Bajwa.
Ahmad Wahidi and his delegation met with General Bajwa at the headquarters of the Pakistan Army in Rawalpindi.
Also present at the meeting were Sayyid Mohammad Ali Husseini, Ambassador of Iran, Sardar Ahmad Ali Godarzai, Commander of the Administrative Frontier of Iran, and Mustafa Qanbarpour, Head of the Army in Pakistan.
Parts of the military and security positions of Pakistan were also present along with the Commander-in-Chief of the Army in this country.
During the meeting, the two sides discussed the latest developments in Iran-Pakistan relations, security developments in the region, border cooperation and the situation in Afghanistan.
This is the first visit of Ahmad Wahidi, Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Pakistan since his appointment.
Wahidi is scheduled to meet with the Minister of State and then the First Minister of Pakistan for another hour.
