ISLAMABAD: Chairman PTI Imran Khan appeared before the Anti-Terrorism Court, where the court extended his bail till September 12.
Imran Khan’s bail application in the terrorism case for threatening the female judge and police officers was heard in which lawyer Babar Awan started the arguments saying that Imran Khan has reached the courtroom on your orders.

Earlier, the anti-terrorism court had ordered Imran Khan to appear at 12 noon for not appearing in the hearing. On this occasion, journalists including lawyers were banned from entering the judicial complex. On the occasion of the hearing, Imran Khan’s lawyer Babar Awan appeared in the court.

Imran Khan’s lawyer Babar Awan started giving arguments at the beginning of the hearing in front of Judge Raja Jawad Abbas. The court remarked that Imran Khan will have to appear before the court. Lawyer Babar Awan told the court that the Islamabad Police has written to Imran Khan, that his life is in danger.
Judge Raja Jawad Abbas remarked that we will hear arguments on this bail application today. On this occasion, the prosecutor asked the court to first present the accused before the court and then we will discuss. Imran Khan’s lawyer Babar Awan told the court that Imran Khan will be produced at 12 o’clock. If anything happens to my client, IG and DIG operations will be responsible.
The court inquired that what is the danger to Imran Khan, let him know. While they have got bail. If the court granted bail, it was their duty to appear before the court. Babar Awan said that Imran Khan wanted to come but the police told him that he was in danger.
The lawyer pleaded that 4 more sections 506, 504, 186 and 188 have been added in the terrorism case against Imran Khan. Imran Khan’s bail should be approved in these provisions as well. The judge remarked that in these provisions we will issue notices.

It should be noted that the anti-terrorism court had granted interim bail to Imran Khan till today. Tight security arrangements and 527 police personnel have been deployed before the appearance of the former prime minister in the anti-terrorism court. The police blocked the way to the court by installing barbed wire and banned the entry of unrelated persons.
During a break in the hearing before Imran Khan appeared, PTI activists gathered outside the Anti-Terrorism Court, where they started shouting slogans. On this occasion, the workers were not allowed to enter, while there was a bitter exchange between the journalists and the policemen for preventing them from entering.
Meanwhile, PTI leaders Faisal Javed, Ali Nawaz Awan, Asad Umar and others also reached the anti-terrorism court. After the break, the hearing resumed, Imran Khan’s lawyer told the court that we face a lot of difficulties while reaching here, we are ridiculed. The judge remarked that Islamabad High Court has decided that even journalists cannot be prevented from entering the court.
