PESHAWAR: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan has announced a long march towards Islamabad on May 25 and said that as long as we have to stay in Islamabad for the sake of national sovereignty, we are ready to sacrifice our lives. I tell the army to remain neutral.
He said this while addressing a press conference after the meeting of PTI core committee. Earlier, a meeting of the core committee was held at the Chief Minister’s House, Peshawar. The meeting was attended by Chief Minister Mehmood Khan, former federal ministers Pervez Khattak, Ali Amin Gandapur, former governor Shah Farman, Imran Ismail, Atif Khan, Asad Umar and other members. The meeting fixed the date and venue of Islamabad Independence March.
Addressing a press conference with the leaders after the meeting, Imran Khan said that the United States had conspired to overthrow our government. The conspiracy was not against me but against the whole of Pakistan. We have not been able to stop this conspiracy.
He said that in 2018 we found the country bankrupt, our government was toppled when the country was on the path of development. They only have experience in corruption, litigation and revenge, they have no plan and no decision making power.
The PTI chairman said that he had visited Russia in consultation with the foreign minister and the military leadership. Curley, the current government is asking the Security Committee to decide to increase the prices of petroleum products, they want to put all this burden on the army.
“We have decided that we will march towards Islamabad. I invite the whole nation, teachers, youth, laborers, farmers, students, lawyers to come forward against oppression and slavery and in March,” he said. Join in, what could be more self-defeating than to overthrow the government from the outside.
Imran Khan said that as long as we have to stay in Islamabad, we are ready to sacrifice our lives for our freedom, we will not accept the imported government.
“We demand that the assemblies be dissolved and fresh elections be held immediately. We do not accept any third thing. The army, the police and the bureaucracy are with us. I am also telling the army that you have said it yourself,” he said. If you are neutral then you should be neutral.
Former Prime Minister Imran Khan further said that I will meet on the Srinagar Highway on May 25 at 3 pm and start the march, the whole nation especially the youth will join the march.
