According to media reports, government spokesperson Maryam Aurangzeb told a press conference in Islamabad shortly after her return from London that on her return home, Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif would take all allies into confidence before making important announcements in his address to the nation. ۔
The Information Minister had termed the London meeting as a normal consultation before the departure of the delegation.
Insiders revealed that the London meeting was in the context of the current economic crisis facing the country, the forthcoming federal budget for 2023, the date for the next elections and the regular holding of public meetings across the country by government rival PTI. The focus was on all issues, including the current political situation facing Pakistan.
Information Minister Maryam Aurangzeb said that before addressing the nation, the Prime Minister would consult with the allied political parties on strategy and all decisions.
Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif is currently in the United Arab Emirates to offer his condolences on the death of former UAE President Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan. He is expected to return to Pakistan today.
