ISLAMABAD: The Chief Justice of Pakistan has ordered to file a case within 24 hours for the assassination of Chairman Tehreek-e-Insaf Imran Khan.
A hearing was held in the Supreme Court on the government’s petition for contempt of court against Imran Khan. So IG Punjab appeared in Lahore registry through video link.
Chief Justice of Pakistan Umar Atta Bandyal has said that the IG Punjab will tell how much time it will take to file an FIR of the attack. If the FIR is delayed, it means that the evidence is being lost. Somoto will be taken if it happens.

The Chief Justice said that you will be held accountable by the IG in the Sumoto Notice, an attempt was made to kill a national leader, understand the sensitivity of the matter, 90 hours have passed but the case has not been registered, how will there be an investigation without an FIR. Without an FIR, evidence can be changed, there must be a solid reason for not registering a case, act according to the law, the court is with you, you should investigate the officers, as long as you are in office, no one is in your job. will not interfere, IG sir, if someone interferes in your work, the court will interfere in his work, how long will the case be registered?
IG Punjab told the court that I was prevented from registering the case by the provincial government, one option is to register a case on the request of the family of the deceased.
The Chief Justice told him that the court is not concerned with the options available to you, investigate the incident, collect evidence, conduct forensics, the position of the provincial government cannot be more important than that of the police officer, the criminal justice system should not stop, the rule of law. The court will support the police in every step taken accordingly.
The Chief Justice said that there was a murderous attack on a national politician and an FIR is not being registered, the absence of an FIR means that the police will not be able to investigate, there should be no interference in the criminal justice system. The criminal justice system is a prerogative of the court and should not be interfered with.
