Talking to media in Parliament House, Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid has said that if there is an issue of integrity of Pakistan then the institutions cannot remain neutral while he cannot say anything about today’s voting.
Talking to the media in Parliament House, he said, “I used to say four months ago that elections should be held. I still say that the only solution to save the democracy of this country is elections, elections and elections.”
He said that if the election is not held then the broom will go again, there will be fighting, there could be a major accident, terrorists have also entered this country, I am giving this statement as the Home Minister in this country. A large number of terrorists have entered, this is a terrible situation for the country.
Sheikh Rashid said that it is a good thing that the institutions are neutral, I appreciate but when it comes to the integrity of Pakistan, the institutions can not be neutral, can not say anything about today’s voting.
He said that the position of the Prime Minister among the people is much better than before, he is more popular, Imran Khan’s words were heard and accepted by the people, forgetting the mistakes of this government, the people have stood with Imran Khan, the Prime Minister. Accepted the statement of the Supreme Court.
On the question of Shahbaz Sharif becoming the Prime Minister, the Home Minister said that he should have been indicted on the 11th, the younger one in Lahore and the older one in the center but one is going to become the Chief Minister and the other the Prime Minister who is accused in different cases. No, they are guilty.
“In this situation, the fighting is escalating. The fighting in the streets is escalating. If anyone thinks that the outcome will be very welcome, then I am not so optimistic,” he said.
It should be noted that before the no-confidence motion was tabled in February, Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid had said that the Establishment is with a neutral, impartial and elected government, Prime Minister Imran Khan will be a servant. There will be failure again.
It may be recalled that a meeting of the lower house of Parliament on the no-confidence motion was being held today as per the directions of the Supreme Court, which was adjourned by the Speaker National Assembly till 12:30 pm.
In the meeting held on April 3, the Deputy Speaker had rejected the motion of no-confidence moved by the opposition against the Prime Minister, declaring it unconstitutional.
Later, President Dr Arif Alvi dissolved the assembly on the suggestion of Prime Minister Imran Khan.
Ruling on the suo motu notice taken on this, the Supreme Court, by a five-nil majority, ruled to reject the no-confidence motion filed by Qasim Suri against Prime Minister Imran Khan and to dissolve the National Assembly of the President. Was declared unconstitutional.
At the same time, the Supreme Court, while reinstating the National Assembly, directed the Speaker to convene a sitting of the lower house on Saturday, April 9, at 10:30 am and to hold a vote on the no-confidence motion.
The Chief Justice had ordered that no member of the National Assembly would be barred from voting on the day of the election.
