Islamabad: The Islamabad High Court again sent the matter of PTI leader Shahbaz Gill’s physical remand to the session court.
Acting Chief Justice of Islamabad High Court Aamir Farooq heard Shahbaz Gill’s pleas for extradition and further physical remand.
Justice Amir Farooq remarked that the person whose case is an official of a political party, but whoever the accused is, it is meaningless before this court. The court should only look at the legal point. Tell the court that the decision of the judicial magistrate How was the appeal heard? If the accused is sent to jail on judicial remand, then the matter is over.
Handing over an accused to the police on physical remand is a serious matter.
It seems that the forum of the Sessions Court is there to supervise. The Sessions Court should see that the Judicial Magistrate has not made any wrong decision. Now the request for remand is not being granted on the merits. After hearing the arguments, the government reserved its decision on the request for physical remand of Shehbaz Gill. The court said that if the request is admissible, it will keep a date for the arguments on the merits.
The court ordered the session judge to hear again the review application for further physical remand of Shehbaz Gill. The court said in its order that the application against the order of the judicial magistrate is admissible. The Islamabad High Court ordered the session judge to hear the application today.
