Disturbed by the ‘tactics’ of the Governor of Punjab, Hamza Shahbaz has decided to file a petition against him in the Lahore High Court today (Tuesday), in which an order will be sought for immediate swearing in of the Chief Minister. ۔
According to a report, after consulting the PML-N’s legal team, Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif’s son has decided to take the case back to the Lahore High Court in the hope that he may get relief.

On the other hand, the parliamentary parties of PML-Q and PTI have also started consulting constitutional experts to challenge the ‘unconstitutional election of Chief Minister’.
The PML-Q and PTI alliance believes that Hamza Shahbaz is not a constitutionally elected chief minister as his opponents Chaudhry Pervez Elahi and his supporting legislators had gone through the voting process under a “plan”.
PML-N Deputy Secretary General Attaullah Tarar told Dawn that Hamza Shahbaz, while filing a petition in the Lahore High Court, would request the court to direct the concerned authorities to take oath on his post.
He said that the Lahore High Court had directed the Deputy Speaker to hold the election of the Chief Minister on April 16. The swearing in was also part of the court order which was denied by the Governor.
However, he said that this is a violation of the court order, we want the Lahore High Court to enforce its order.

On Sunday, the governor had refused to take oath at the request of Hamza Shahbaz on the report of the secretary of the Punjab Assembly.
The report of the Secretary to the Punjab Assembly had said that the directions and “facts” of the Lahore High Court presented before him had raised questions on the validity of the election of the Chief Minister.
The Governor had said in a press conference, “I have written a letter to the Advocate General of Punjab and the Speaker of the Punjab Assembly seeking his statement on the Secretary’s report, following the directions of the Lahore High Court and other facts. My mind is hesitant about
