KARACHI: After the funeral prayers of the renowned religious scholar and Grand Mufti of Pakistan Mufti Muhammad Rafi Usmani were performed at Darul Uloom Karachi, he was buried in the cemetery adjacent to Darul Uloom.
Mufti Rafi Usmani’s funeral prayer was performed under the leadership of his younger brother Mufti Taqi Usmani, a large number of scholars and students participated in the funeral prayer.
Sindh Governor Kamran Tesuri, Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam F Chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman, PSP Chairman Mustafa Kamal and leader Anis Qaim Khani, Maulana Aurangzeb Farooqui and Ameer Jamaat-e-Islami Karachi Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman also attended the funeral prayer.
After the funeral prayers, the deceased was buried in the graveyard adjacent to Korangi Darul Uloom alongside his father and mother.

During the funeral prayer, strict security arrangements were made at the main gate of Darul Uloom Karachi, Bomb Disposal Squad officials also checked Jamia Darul Uloom Karachi.
It should be noted that on the night of November 18, Grand Mufti of Pakistan Muhammad Rafi Usmani died at the age of 88 years. Rafi Usmani was the Grand Mufti and the famous seminary Jamia Darul Uloom Karachi, apart from being the author of more than 30 books, Qur’an commentator, jurist.
Maulana Rafi Usmani was born on July 21, 1936 in Deoband, India. He was named by the religious scholar Maulana Ashraf Ali Thanvi. His father Maulana Shafi was the Grand Mufti of Darul Uloom Deoband.
