Federal Minister for Communications Murad Saeed has said that the present government has not raised any tax on any toll plaza. Work on kilometers of roads completed.
According to details, Federal Minister for Communications Murad Saeed tweeted on social networking site Twitter that the total revenue of National Highway Authority (NHA) has increased by 124.50% in 3 years which is Rs 99 billion. He said that a total of Rs.24.2 billion was recovered from accountability and Rs.100 crore was saved through simplicity while land worth Rs.5 billion was relinquished.
The increase in revenue was achieved by improving governance. The agreement on the increase in taxes on motorways was made by the previous government for 20 years till 2034. The present government has not increased any tax on any of the toll plazas. This institution is not my personal, it is national, so be happy.
He said that work on 200 km roads was completed while 6,118 km was planned. Launched e-procurement for transparency and completed GIS field survey of all roads. The Federal Minister said that this increase in revenue was achieved by improving governance. The agreement on the three motorways on which the tax is increased was made by the previous government for 20 years ie till 2034. He said that the present government has not increased any tax on any of the 117 toll plazas.
