Islamabad: After the IMF agreed to freeze the tax imposed on petrol for three months, the Ministry of Finance has decided in principle to reduce the prices of petroleum products.
According to Express News, the IMF has agreed in principle to freeze the levy tax imposed on petroleum products for three months, the change in the prices of petroleum products will be announced tomorrow.
Sources say that there is no final agreement with the IMF yet. According to the IMF agreement, the petroleum levy on petrol is to be increased to Rs 50 per liter by January 2023.
It should be noted that the petroleum levy on petrol is currently around Rs 37.42 per liter while on high speed diesel it is around Rs 7.35 per litre, in addition to this on kerosene and light diesel oil Rs 10 per liter of petrol. Levy is levied.
Sources say that petroleum levy per liter of kerosene and light diesel oil will be gradually increased to Rs.50.
