PESHAWAR: Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has decided not to sign the summary of dissolution of the provincial assembly after the announcement by PTI.
Like the governor of Punjab, the governor of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Haji Ghulam Ali, has also decided not to be a part of the process of dissolution of the provincial assembly. will be sent to the Governor.
According to the sources, the governor of Pakhtunkhwa will wait for 48 hours without signing the summary so that the provincial assembly will be dissolved automatically after the completion of the time specified in the constitution. It is said that by not signing the summary regarding the dissolution of the assembly, the governor will not be a part of this process and the assembly will be waited for its dissolution.
Sources said that the governor of Pakhtunkhwa will certainly play his role in the appointment of caretaker chief minister in the province and as soon as the provincial assembly is dissolved, he will send a letter to Chief Minister Mahmood Khan and opposition leader Karam Khan Durrani, in which they will be asked to amend the constitution. Appoint caretaker Chief Minister through mutual consultation.
It should be noted that if there is no consensus between the Chief Minister and the Leader of the Opposition regarding the Caretaker Chief Minister, the Speaker of the Dissolved Assembly will form a 6-member parliamentary committee consisting of government and opposition members from the same assembly, to which 4 names should be sent. which have been discussed by the Chief Minister and the Opposition Leader, however, if there is no agreement in the committee, then this matter will be sent to the Election Commission with these 4 proposed names like in 2018 and the Election Commission will automatically appoint the Caretaker Chief Minister which will be final.
