ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court has adjourned Altaf Hussain’s application for obtaining an identity card till October 26.
In the Islamabad High Court, Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kayani heard the request to issue the identity card of Muttahida Qaumi Movement founder Altaf Hussain. Ordered to appear in court in half an hour.
According to the court order, representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Interior appeared in the court and informed Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kayani that the direction of the court was to block Altaf Hussain’s identity card and passport.
The interior ministry representative told the court that the Anti-Terrorism Court had issued instructions, upon which Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kayani remarked that civil rights and criminal cases are two different things.
The Deputy Interior Secretary informed the court that if NADRA makes a Naikop issue, then we have no objection. On this occasion, the Deputy Attorney General said that Altaf Hussain is an accused in the Imran Farooq murder case and until the court order, Altaf Hussain’s identity card and passport. The Islamabad High Court directed the Interior Secretary to submit a report after consultation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
During the hearing, NADRA’s lawyer informed the court that Altaf Hussain is not registered in NADRA’s records, Altaf Hussain’s identity card may be from before the establishment of NADRA.

Justice Islamabad High Court inquired that an application has been pending since 2014, so if you look at it, if Altaf Hussain’s ID card application has been rejected, then let him know.
