Talking to reporters in Islamabad, Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid said that the Interior Ministry has decided to register all foreigners. He said that in the last 70 years, 50,000 people have entered Pakistan and gone missing.
He said that no address of those entering Pakistan is being registered. He said that foreigners can open bank accounts through Alien card, do business and also get SIM card and those whose visa has expired can contact the Foreign Office.
Sheikh Rashid said that the border will be opened for 4,000 to 5,000 Pakistanis stranded at Torkham border. The interior minister said that there is a big problem of coronavirus in Afghanistan and the border will be opened for those who have been vaccinated. He said that Pakistanis stranded in Afghanistan wanted to go to Saudi Arabia and other Middle Eastern countries to get a flight from Afghanistan. Torkham border will be opened only for Pakistanis.
Sheikh Rashid said that they are going to take big steps to stop drug trafficking. Drugs do not go abroad from Pakistan but come from there. Sheikh Rashid Ahmed said that foreigners residing in Pakistan will be able to open a bank account on Alien Card, do business, buy SIM card and travel facilities. Sheikh Rashid said that if their visa expires, they can also contact the Ministry of Interior and get permission. Can get because the Interior Ministry has decided to register all foreigners.
“We have recently arrested an Afghan gang involved in making fake identity cards. We are trying to get every foreigner involved in the current situation,” he said, adding that the interior minister hoped that the PTI would be independent.
