Foreign Office spokesman Asim Iftikhar said, “We want a deep partnership with the United States on economic, defense, trade, climate change, security and relations.”
He said that it was in the interest of both the countries to move forward with these relations, adding that diplomatic activities had increased in recent days, with visits by Chinese and US officials to enhance Pakistan’s relations with both the US and China based on mutual interests. The desire to increase is expressed.
A Foreign Office spokesman expressed these views during a weekly media briefing on Thursday.
He said that the Director of the Politburo of the Chinese Communist Party visited Pakistan, during which the visit renewed the commitment of the government to expedite the completion of C-Pack projects, prevent the spread of Corona epidemic and relocate Pakistanis in China. Replying to a question, Asim Iftikhar said that the issue of negotiations with the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) is a sensitive issue, therefore a detailed briefing was given to the MPs on it.
He said that there was a strong protest against the Indian closure of the accounts of Pakistani embassies in New York, Iran, Egypt and Turkey. A petition has also been filed by international organizations in this regard.
“These accounts include our overseas verified accounts. We urge the defenders of freedom of expression to take note of Indian actions,” the Foreign Office spokesman said.
Asim Iftikhar said that in case of success of negotiations with the banned TTP, Ehsanullah could not comment on whether Ehsan would participate in the elections or not.
