Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi telephoned the OIC Secretary General to discuss the current situation in Afghanistan and said that the international community should play a role for the rehabilitation of Afghanistan, economic assistance, and committed to a positive role for peace in Afghanistan. ۔
According to details, Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi called the OIC Secretary General to discuss the current situation in Afghanistan. Shah Mehmood Qureshi said that they are committed to play a positive role for peace in Afghanistan, Afghan leaders are expected to benefit from the talks for political settlement and successful talks in Kabul will lead to betterment for the region including Afghanistan.
The Foreign Minister said that the security and protection of the rights of Afghan citizens should be ensured, the international community should play its role for the rehabilitation of Afghanistan, economic assistance and the Muslim world should also show solidarity with Afghans for a peaceful Afghanistan. The Foreign Minister apprised the OIC Secretary General of the threat posed by anti-peace forces inside and outside Afghanistan and said that the government wanted a broad base in Kabul.
