According to a statement issued by the Ministry of Finance, the meeting of the Economic Coordination Committee was held under the chairmanship of Federal Minister for Finance Shaukat Tareen, in which a supplementary grant of Rs. This money will be spent on automation of power of attorney for overseas Pakistanis.
The Cabinet’s Economic Co-ordination Committee (ECC) has approved the import of 5.5 million tonnes of wheat and extended the subsidy on five essential items at utility stores by one month.
The meeting also extended the subsidy on 5 essential items at utility stores by one month. The ECC, while postponing the summary of increase in electricity bill related to K Electric’s quarterly fuel price adjustment, asked K Electric to approach NEPRA.
At the meeting, the committee also directed to submit a revised summary on the rise in commodity prices in the global market, while referring the matter of sales tax on subsidies given to electricity lcompanies (Discos) to the Law Division.
The Economic Co-ordination Committee has also allowed Liberty Power Limited to import 100,000 tonnes of urea for payments and Rabi season under the IPPs settlement.l
