The federal government has decided to give three different types of honorarium to government employees . According to a private TV report, federal employees will get a performance honorarium equal to one month’s basic salary for good performance. Officers who complete a special task Special honorarium equal to two months salary will be given.
Relevant employees including the Prime Minister’s Office, Ministry of Finance, Revenue Division, FBR and Ministry of Planning will benefit from the third budget award. Earlier, important news came out regarding the increase in salaries of government employees. It was reported that the government has taken the IMF into confidence for the increase in salaries and pensions.
Sources said that Rs 780 billion is likely to be allocated in the budget for salaries and pensions.
The Finance Division has given 3 suggestions for increasing the salaries of government employees. A 5 to 10 percent increase in the salaries of government employees is being considered. Consideration is being given to increase the ad hoc allowance by 10% in salaries of grades one to 19. It was further stated that an increase of up to 10% is proposed for the employees of grades 20 to 22. It is proposed to increase the pension of retired employees by 5 to 10 percent.
According to the Finance Ministry, the pay hike will be approved by Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif. A final decision will be taken on the basis of financial resources. Recommendations will be finalized by June 30. Earlier, it was stated that the issue of increase in salaries of government employees is related to the approval of IMF. The IMF demands that the salaries of government employees not be increased in the budget. The Ministry of Finance will submit proposals to the IMF to increase the salaries of government employees.
