KARACHI: Amir Jamaat-e-Islami Karachi Hafiz Naeemur Rehman has said that the Election Commission should close all escape routes by making the final announcement of local government elections.
After the order of Sindh High Court to hold local body elections in Karachi and Hyderabad soon, Hafiz Naeemur Rahman while giving a press conference at Noor Haq Institute said that we fought the case of Karachi in Sindh High Court, Supreme Court and Election Commission. The Sindh High Court has come up with a historic decision on the jupitation, which has finally asked the Election Commission to announce the local elections immediately.
He said that the court has also bound the Sindh government to make all arrangements for the local elections. The decision of the Election Commission is also expected on November 22. We have also represented the people of Karachi in the Election Commission of Pakistan. All the forces that wanted to stop the election, in which the Sindh government and the MQM were at the top, insisted that the election be canceled somehow.
Hafiz Naeemur Rahman said that a gentleman says that we want to hold elections but there is no party. Others come and say that the problem of constituencies is the problem of census and when we go into details, we find that the problem of census, constituencies or powers, all these problems have been imposed by the same people.
Amir Jamaat said that it has been two years since the Sindh government is running away from the elections and MQM is their facilitator while the Election Commission is also supporting the Sindh government by repeatedly postponing the elections. . All the things that the Sindh government said in the Election Commission were lifeless. They had nothing to do with the law or the facts.
He said that we demand that the Election Commission should announce the date of the elections, then this should be the final announcement from which all escape routes should be closed. Sindh government and MQM should also end conspiracies. First, the appointment of the illegitimate administrator of Karachi should be terminated, corruption should be stopped in the name of development works and relief to the flood victims.
Hafiz Naeem said that Jamaat-e-Islami will once again start the journey of development of the city by succeeding in the municipal elections. Public opinion polls show that people want a Jamaat-e-Islami mayor. We will solve the basic problems of people. Even in bad conditions, Karachi is running the economy of the entire Pakistan. If Karachi gets its right then Pakistan will also develop.
He said that wherever houses are being demolished in the anti-encroachment operation including Wahid Colony and Mujahid Colony in North Nazimabad, action should be taken against those responsible and the victims should be given compensation and alternative accommodation.
