ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission has postponed the by-elections on 37 National Assembly seats in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Balochistan and Islamabad.
The Election Commission postponed the by-elections to the National Assembly seats in various provinces, by-elections were postponed in 24 constituencies of the National Assembly in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and 3 constituencies of the National Assembly in Islamabad.
Whereas PTI and Imran Khan is insisting on holding early elections due to the worsening social and economic difficulties in Pakistan Election Commission has delayed the by elections which will definitely be hard to accept gor many people. Previoulsy the Supreme Court had given the order to hold elections in khyber Pakhtunkua and Punjab within 90 days to which election commission respinded and issued a statement thatbwe are bound to accept the orders of Supreme Court and we will hold elections in Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkha in 90 days.
According to the Election Commission, the by-elections in one seat of the National Assembly of Balochistan and 9 constituencies of the National Assembly of Sindh have also been postponed.
The Election Commission has said that the by-elections were postponed in the light of court decisions.
It should be noted that the Election Commission had issued a schedule for holding the by-elections on March 16 and 19.
