ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has released the schedule of by-elections in the constituencies of 20 D-seat assembly members of PTI.
According to Express News, the Election Commission has released the schedule for by-elections in 20 constituencies of Punjab, under which polling in these 20 constituencies will be held on July 17. Nomination papers can be submitted from June 4 to 7. The scrutiny of nomination papers will be on June 11, while the Election Commission will issue election symbols on June 24 to the candidates contesting by-elections in 20 constituencies of the Punjab Assembly.

The constituencies in which the Election Commission has issued election schedule include PP-7 Rawalpindi, PP-83 Khushab, PP-90 Bhakkar, PP-97 Faisalabad, PP-125 and 127 Jhang, PP-140 Sheikhupura, PP-202. Sahiwal, PP 217 Multan, PP 224 and 228 Lodhran, PP 237 Bahawal Nagar, PP 272 and 273 Muzaffargarh, PP 282 Layyah, PP 288 DG Khan. Assembly constituencies have also issued election schedules.

It is to be noted that the Election Commission had sent a reference to the Election Commission by the Speaker Punjab Assembly Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi against the 25 members of the Punjab Assembly who had defected and the Election Commission had approved the reference and removed these members from the Assembly seats. As many as 20 seats in the Punjab Assembly were vacant due to de-seating of deviant PTI members.
