Sukkur: The Sukkur Police has claimed to have registered a First Information Report (FIR) against more than 100 unknown persons on charges of terrorism.
According to media reports, the persons named in the case allegedly attacked police personnel outside the relief camp, pelted stones on vehicles, damaged public and private property and attacked flood victims on the occasion of the visit of the Prime Minister and Foreign Minister on Friday. There are allegations of incitement.
It should be noted that two days ago, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif along with Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah and other ministers visited Sukkur district to assess the flood situation and help the homeless families in the relief camps.
During the Prime Minister’s visit to the relief camp set up near KBA College, rain-affected families from different areas blocked roads against the administration’s failure to drain water.
According to the police spokesperson, when the officials were performing their duties outside the camp, some miscreants including women blocked the main road, which worsened the law and order situation. provoked
The spokesperson claimed that the miscreants also broke the windscreens of the vehicles as a result of which traffic flow was suspended for 8 hours.
He said that we have registered a case against the miscreants under the Anti-Terrorism Act.
The police spokesperson added that as soon as the accused involved in disturbing the law and order are identified from the CCTV footage and other videos, action will be taken against them as per the law.
He warned that no one would be allowed to take law into their hands and disrupt law and order at this crucial time.
On the other hand, several flood-affected families say that the police have registered a fake FIR against the protesters.
He said that the protestors only wanted to meet the Prime Minister and Foreign Minister to bring to their notice that they were not provided with relief materials like food, tents, mosquito nets, beds and other resources.
The protestors complained that even after the passage of several days, the concerned authorities of the municipal and public health department are not taking steps to drain the collected rain water from our areas.
