In Pakistan, on the one hand, the federal government has reduced the prices of petroleum products, while on the other hand, the price of domestic LPG cylinders has been increased. According to the Finance Ministry, the new price of petrol for the next 15 days will be Rs 118.30 per liter.
According to the notification issued by the Ministry of Finance on Tuesday evening, the prices of petrol and diesel have been reduced by Rs 1.5 per liter. According to the notification, the price of kerosene has also been reduced by Rs 1.5 per liter. The price was reduced by one rupee per liter.
After a reduction of Rs 1.5, the new price of diesel will be Rs 115.3 per liter while the new price of light diesel will be Rs 84.77 per liter. According to the notification of the Finance Ministry, the new price of kerosene has been fixed at Rs 86.80 per liter. Note that the new prices will be applicable for the next 15 days from September 1. On the other hand, the price of LPG cylinders for domestic use has been increased by more than Rs 4 per kg. Thus, the price of a cylinder has increased by Rs. 58.
Social media users are reacting mixedly to the reduction in prices of petroleum products. A Twitter user named Maria Chaudhry wrote sarcastically that PTI workers will now say that ‘petrol has become cheaper by Rs 1.50 but no one. Patwari and the envelope will not tell you.
