Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has ordered the preparation of a special incentive package for the students of the flood-affected areas.
Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif says that fee waiver for students, special scholarships for undergraduate and graduate students will be included in the package, for which the Ministry of Education and Higher Education Commission have started working together for the implementation procedure.
An education package is being prepared on the directives of the Prime Minister under which students from all flood-affected areas will be given various incentives, including deferment of collection of due university fees.
Besides, a special scholarship program will be started for undergraduate and graduate students in flood affected areas.
On the other hand, in the meeting held under the chairmanship of Federal Minister of Education Rana Tanveer Hussain, in addition to the Chairman of Higher Education, high officials of the Ministry of Education, heads of affiliated institutions, vice chancellors participated in the meeting, including the situation caused by the catastrophic floods across the country. It was also agreed to establish temporary (transitional) schools in the affected areas.
