Islamabad: An important leader of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf says that the decision to deploy Punjab Police for the security of former Prime Minister Imran Khan has been postponed.
According to the media report, the PTI leader says that Islamabad Police personnel have been deployed on the roads leading to Imran Khan’s residence in Bani Gala with the aim of stopping the deployment of Punjab Police.
The Frontier Corps and Islamabad Police personnel assigned to the security of Imran Khan’s residence were removed after which it was decided to deploy the Punjab Police for his security. An attempt was made to stop them by justifying them.
He said that with this decision, there is a fear of a new crisis and conflict between the province and the federation, so the decision to deploy the Punjab Police has been postponed for the time being.
While in this regard, the spokesperson of Islamabad Police says that the police of any other province cannot work within the boundaries of Islamabad without legal permission. The district administration has not yet sought police from any other province. In case of any violation, Islamabad Capital Police will take legal and practical action. Islamabad Police further said that in case of any illegal action or advance, those responsible will be clearly determined, the personnel called for legal assistance will also follow the orders of Islamabad Capital Police as per the law.
