Corona virus is spreading rapidly across the country. Meanwhile, Punjab jails have banned visits to inmates due to the threat of corona outbreak. , Mianwali, Multan, Okara, Sheikhupura, Sahiwal and Sargodha.
According to details, meeting with the inmates was again banned due to fear of Corona outbreak. In this regard, the Punjab Home Department has issued a letter to the IG Prisons and Regional Officers. Officials have been told in the letter that visits to jails in districts with more than 8% cases and visits and appearances in districts with more than 15% cases will be banned.
The districts banned from meeting prisoners include those in Bahawalnagar, Bahawalpur, Gujarat, Hafizabad, Jhang, Kasur, Lodhran, Muzaffargarh, Pakpattan, Rahim Yar Khan, Rawalpindi, Toba Tek Singh and Gujranwala. Has issued a notification to tighten the sanctions for and these sanctions will remain in force till May 17.
It is to be noted that the cases of corona virus are increasing rapidly in Punjab, where the number of corona patients has increased from other provinces to 296,144, while the total number of deaths here is more than other provinces which is 8,224.
